Membership
The International Women’s Club of Stockholm is a great way to connect with international women from Stockholm and the surrounding area. We offer a wide range of activities and events, a supportive international community, and plenty of opportunities to meet like-minded women and build new friendships. Meet some of our members here.
Your IWC Stockholm membership will include:

Becoming a member
Application process
We are delighted that you are interested in joining the International Women's Club of Stockholm.

Complete our application form

Pay the membership fee of 700 SEK
to IWC BankGiro 269‐2770 or via Swish 123 384 5237.
Once we have received and reviewed your application, the Membership Chairperson will contact you to verify and complete the necessary information. You will then be invited to an informal coffee gathering in central Stockholm, giving us an opportunity to meet and get to know each other.
As the final step, your application will be submitted to the Executive Board for consideration at its next monthly meeting.
Once your membership has been approved, you will receive a welcome email together with your membership confirmation letter.
If your application is not approved, any membership fee paid will be refunded, less any processing fees charged by the banks.

Eligibility Requirements
Who may become a member?
Foreign Born Women

New membership shall be open to all English-speaking women who are not originally of Swedish nationality.
Swedish Women

Women of Swedish nationality who have been living abroad consecutively for at least 5 (five) years and have returned to Sweden no more than 3 (three) years prior to their application will be considered for membership.

An exception will be made where a Swedish born woman with full diplomatic status represents another country in Sweden and this exception shall apply as long as she holds full diplomatic status.
General Membership Principles and Expectations
The International Women’s Club of Stockholm is, first and foremost, a social club based on friendship, goodwill, inclusion, and mutual respect.
We welcome women from different national, cultural, professional, religious, and personal backgrounds. Our members are expected to contribute positively to the club and to help create a friendly and welcoming environment for everyone.
We look for members who:

Contribute and participate in the life of the club and are willing to engage in activities and events.

Treat others with respect and kindness, even when opinions, cultures, or traditions differ.

Are open to meeting new people and building friendships across political, religious, cultural, and other personal differences.

Support the spirit of inclusion and goodwill that is central to IWC.

Respect the club’s Code of Conduct and understand that personal political or religious views should not become a source of conflict within the club.
IWC is not a business or professional networking organization. Membership is intended for social interaction, friendship, cultural exchange, and community. Members may of course have professional interests and businesses, but the club and its membership should not be used to promote products, solicit customers, or generate business.
We also encourage prospective members to consider whether they are genuinely interested in participating in the club. Membership is most rewarding when members take part in activities, attend events, contribute their ideas, and make an effort to connect with others.
Getting to know Prospective Members
As part of the membership process, prospective members are invited to an informal coffee meeting with representatives of the Club. The purpose is not to assess a person’s personality or professional background, but simply to get to know one another and ensure a shared understanding of IWC’s values and spirit.
We recognize that people have different personalities and levels of sociability. What matters is a genuine willingness to treat others respectfully, participate in the club, and contribute to a positive and inclusive community.
The Executive Board considers each application individually, taking into account the applicant’s understanding of and willingness to support the principles of the International Women’s Club of Stockholm.

Payment by card comes with considerable fees for the Club, so please pay via Swish or Bankgiro (BG) whenever possible.
Please note that membership is only valid once the annual membership fee has been paid. Membership fees are non-refundable.
